A Study of Strange
Michael May is a filmmaker and performer best known for producing films such as GHOSTS OF THE OZARKS, 12 HOUR SHIFT, FUN SIZE HORROR: VOLUME 1 & 2 and hosting the true-crime, automotive show AUTO/BIOGRAPHY and its spinoff AUTO/BIOGRAPHY: COLD CASES on Motor Trend TV.
Michael is mystery obsessed and loves to talk about his favorite strange mysteries. "A Study of Strange" is a podcast that brings a new perspective to lovers of true-crime and historical mysteries.
I've been passionate about everything mysterious since I was a little kid. It may have started with tv shows, who-done-it movies, and children's literature like Encyclopedia Brown, but it broadened as I got older. Now I'm basically a consumer of anything that deals with the unknown...and the stranger the better.
One of my favorite hobbies is to research and debunk common theories. Even my own. I'm not an investigative journalist. I'm a story-teller. So, I'm not expecting to solve any cases, settle the score once and for all over who is Jack the Ripper, or discover a family of Big Foot (Big Feet?), but I do think I can enlighten lovers of this engaging genre.
And, hey, I'm going to play with dramatizations and reenactments of aspects of these tales which is unique and fun. Some of these stories are dark and depressing. We've gotta have some fun, right?
