Carl Großmann: The Butcherin' Berlin Beggar

In 1921 screams were heard coming from Carl Großmann’s apartment. Neighbors quickly called the police who arrived to catch Großmann in a frightening, murderous act that caused the papers to label him The Berlin Butcher. 

 

Großmann is a notorious serial killer but his claim to fame today (selling sausages made of human meat) may be entirely made up. On this episode of "A Study of Strange" we try to suss out the truth.
